IPL 2023

The Indian Premier League is also known as the festival of India. And this season, the IPL 2023 was nothing but a ride of sprawling fireworks for the fans.

How can it not be when each team have their home crowd rooting for them?

After the span of three seasons, we were able to witness home and away format, which makes the tournament competitive. It has been more competitive in the last couple of seasons, with the addition of two new teams.

The IPL is the ideal platform for preparing aspiring cricketers for higher competition. The 2023 season can be considered one of the best because a huge number of new players emerged and displayed their skills, instead of just one or two.

So, here’s a list of players who might be seen in blue in the coming years.

Rinku Singh

We saw a little glimpse of the Aligarh boy, but this time he just pulled off a blinder against the defending champions, Gujarat Titans. He has it all, whether it’s the elegance of a left-hander or hitting sixes in the V. And one can’t even reckon his finishing skills. The way he kept his cool while hitting those five sixes in the last over to close the match in his team’s favour is something only an experienced one can do.

Rinku had a successful season, scoring 474 runs at an impressive average of about 60, including four half-centuries. Additionally, 305 of his runs came off while chasing, which demonstrates his ability to score under pressure.

Tilak Varma

Once again, a player is emerging from the franchise, which is also known as the university for the young guns i.e. Mumbai Indians. Tilak, who plays for Hyderabad in domestic cricket, was bought by the Indians for 1.7 crores in the 2022 mega auctions.

Thanks to the scouts of the MI, Tilak was in the best hands. He was given the opportunity to bat higher in the order, and that too ahead of Surya, which he took with both hands and smashed 84 off just 46 in the opener against RCB.

He smashed a total of 345 runs in just 11 games. As the captain of the Indian team believes, he will be an all-format player due to his class and techniques.

Suyash Sharma

Another Knight Rider, who did a fantastic job in his debut season. Suyash Sharma is the leg-spinner who tumbled the best of the batters. Surprisingly, he hasn’t played a single domestic game, not even at the state level. He was picked for the base price of 20 lakhs after being sent directly to the KKR trials.

He picked up three wickets in his debut game against RCB. In the clash against Mumbai Indians, he took two crucial wickets, Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma. He appears to have a googly that turns sharply and ends up on the stumps. He featured in 11 games and bowled economically, picking up ten wickets.

Yash Thakur

Lucknow Super Giants were brilliant in the first few games, but a few injuries made them struggle later. The absence of players paved the way for the young Yash Thakur, a right-arm fast bowler who became the wicket-taking bowler for the Super Giants.

Yash’s quick bouncers helped him grab 13 wickets in just nine games. In the clash against Punjab Kings, he picked up a four-wicket haul, including the wickets of Sikandar Raza and Jitesh Sharma.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

This year, we saw a whole different version of Yashasvi Jaiswal. As a left-hander, he was pleasing to the eyes, and the way he was hitting sixes with just the timing was mesmerizing. He smashed the fastest fifty of this IPL against KKR and a century against MI.

He was among the highest scorers of the tournament, with 625 runs at a brisk strike rate of over 160. His temperament throughout the season served as evidence of his development as a mature cricketer. He has been selected as a reserve player for the World Test Championship as a result of his outstanding performances in domestic cricket.

Along with these players, Sai Sudharsan, Prabhsimran Singh, Harshit Rana, Atharva Taide, Akash Singh, Tushar Deshpande, Nehal Wadhera and Akash Madhwal were also quite popular because of their feats this season. The selection for the Indian team is not based on IPL, but it helps selectors keep an eye on those players in the domestic tournaments.

In that regard, the IPL 2023 has further contributed to the process of production and will keep creating folks for a better future.
