Team India has arguably been the best T20I side in the last few years and the only thing they could not get was an ICC Trophy. But with remarkable performances in the 2024 T20 World Cup, the drought of lifting an ICC trophy ended after the wait of 11 long years.

Well, it wasn’t just the drought which ended, but also the T20I careers of the core Indian team, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja, who not only have been a part of the success of this team but also the heartbreaks that came in the way to get their hands on the prestigious T20 World Cup trophy.

“The end is just the beginning of something else.”

It is true that every ending has a new beginning and as India bid farewell to these stalwarts, there’s some exciting talent coming in to fill their big shoes.

Whether it’s Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag or even Rinku Singh and Yashasvi Jaiswal, they are all turning out to be more fearless.

The left handed all rounder, Abhishek Sharma took no time to announce himself at the grand stage and slammed a century in his second T20I game, which not only showcases his fierceness but also understanding towards his role in the team.

We all are very well aware of what Riyan Parag can to with his brutal innings, he may have started off on a wrong foot but he is incredibly special. What makes him standout others is his ability to deliver with the ball as well.

Rinku Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan, Washington Sundar and Ravi Bishnoi have a few international games under their belt and bow that guys like Rohit and Kohli are not in the mix, these young guns will be becoming the face of the Indian team.

With Zimbabwe challenge successfully accomplished, this group will now move forward to face the Lankans, under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav and a vision of the newly appointed head coach, Gautam Gambhir.

The veteran left hander is known for his aggressiveness on the field which not only pushes the other team on the backfoot but also provide a sense of confidence in the team. Gambhir’s track record as a coach or mentor has been phenomenal with Kolkata Knight Riders winning the IPL 2024 and LSG’s qualification in the last two IPLseasons demonstrates his leadership style and winning mindset.

Undoubtedly, this bunch will not only wreak havoc in Sri Lanka, but also cement their places in the team for a long time and might not let anyone feel the absence of Rohit, Kohli and Jadeja.
